Dear Saad, What if i add all the high quality post links ( ie the post /pages having higher page rank, as google award each post and pages a unique page rank and most of the time bloggers avoid this well known fact ) from my site on my home page. Do you think it would help me to scale page rank on next Google update.

  4. says

Many of us focus so much on good keywords and backlinking that we forget about the importance of good content. I agee with you that you can target certain keywords or gain backlinks day after day, but at the end of the day if your content is crap you won’t get very far.
It is important I believe that as a blogger we incorporate the total package. You have outlined some of the most important aspects of SEO that we should be focused on.

I’ve found over the years that the easiest way to achieve a high PR is though great content. All the other SEO strategies listed here play an important role, but at the end of the day it’s about user engagement, and that only comes with great content.

    Cheers!

  7. says

Thanks for the 15 valuable tips Saad. For a young man like you, this post really reflects you a real talent. While I agree most of your tips are very helpful, I’m not quite sure about tips #5 (keep updating). I consider myself hardworking who updated my website 4 or 5 contents daily. But my website is still ranking Zero, while my competitor websites, which haven’t been update for weeks, still manage to get PR 2??? I really don’t get it.

I also have a little set back on Link Exchange. I did research and found out many bad feedback on link exchange. However, I’ll give it a try and hopefully my site will get re-evaluate after 3 months..just like you said :)

Thanks again for sharing these to us.

    Cheers,
    Kent.

It’s because pagerank is not only dependent on backlinks Plus google is weird so you can never be sure exactly what is happening . I would suggest you try focusing on other things and not just backlinks :)

      • says

This is exactly the way I am beginning 2014 Saad… by not focusing as much time on backlinks, and more time on quality content.

Example: I have a site that I spend like no time on…. zero, nada!! And it ranks on page #1 of Google for huge terms like “edu backlinks” and “cheap edu backlinks”. (http://cheapedubacklinks.net/) check it out.

Seriously I built it, did some on-page SEO and forgot about it. Meanwhile I am spending a lot of money, time, and energy focusing on a few other sites that a huge PR4+ backink profile, linkwheel, as well as linked to many .edu and .gov sites…. BUT site on page 10 or greater for it’s keywords.

Google is weird, and keeps changing the playing field, and I hate it lol !!!!

something we have to adopt and work with, they are pretty much the only store in town right or the search engine that most users go to when searching for pretty much any brand, service, or business.

So thanks, I agree, try other things other than beating your head on the proverbial backlinks wall :)

  10. says

Totally agree! Well said.. there are many factors which make up Pagerank and Google seems to be changing the playing field several times per year… sometime it is hard to keep up!

    Thanks.

I agree with u on certain point s and i would suggest all the newbie blogger should follow thsi for better search engine visibility.thanks for your great work.

  12. says

This is great info – but one word of warning on guest posts – make sure they are relevant to your site content and if possible, from a site in a related category. Let’s keep the end goal of having Google like you in mind: to get more traffic and ultimately, convert more. A random link from an unrelated site is going to do a lot less for you than something in a similar keyword family.

  13. says

Thank you for this is an incredible post for new sites wanting to build on back links and page rank. I never cared about back links until I noticed that it allows you to rank better on search engines. I have several blogs and am trying to improve back linking and page rank on all of them to maximize my traffic sources.

    Thanks again!

  14. Shruti says

I find people targeting keywords that have a high volume without taking into consideration if these keywords will convert. Often it makes sense to target a lower volume and less competitive keyword, that has a higher conversion rate, than one that has high volume, but is super competitive and has a low conversion rate.

In answer to your second question.

Firstly, I find most sites are often happy to link to you if they have mentioned you on their site. It makes for a better user experience.

Google isn’t as simple as it used to be, where it would divide all link juice by the number of links on the page. I think relevant links can actually help your site.

Let’s use an analogue, just because you make a new friend (link), it doesn’t mean that your existing friends are worth less.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful post. Sometime, I see many blogs which are many years old with no page rank, it really gets me wondering, therefore I would like to know how long it takes before Google Updates the page rank of a blog. Or is it totally upto their choice and descretion to give page rank to a blog.

  16. Waqar says

I see a lot of people who just start a blog and immediately start running after getting a high PR, and in their attempts thy often unknowingly perform methods which actually bring their blog down instead of ranking them high. I believe, in beginning, everyone’s primary focus should be ‘Adding quality content on their blog’ and sharing with friends and on social media. Then come the next steps.

  17. says

Thanks so much for sharing this information. I am a new blogger and have been unsure how Page Rank worked. Now I have a better understanding of page rank and how to increase it. Thank you again :)

  18. Edille Rosario says

I am also thinking how to increase PR of my site. I have done a lot including submitting my site to Social Bookmarking sites but still not getting high PR. Maybe I will try some of your other tips.

    Thanks BTW.

I always look for page rank and alexa…but i am not getting visitors..i have done everything like social media classifieds directories and all.. i Just wanna ask how much is needed

  20. says

Ammar, your post is simple and easily understandable. Please keep it up.Kindly share the Google’s Penguin and Panda updates as a recent updates for Google Page Ranking algorithm.

  21. says

I have all of these tactics, but it seems like Google is just not noticing all the efforts.
My PR is stuck and for the last 6 months no increase or decrease on my PR, I also have resorted to reviews to boost my website. Reviews help but i have noticed that they only do for local searches.
Any suggestions will be more than welcome, thank you.

  22. says

Hey very nice article! A few months ago I have set up a website, these days trying to get maximum out of SEO. You have also mentioned very nice techniques – this article has added much to my SEO knowledge for increasing page-rank. Hopefully in next few months I ill be able to get a handsome page-rank.

  23. Rosie says

I hope to improve my site and will implement your strategies. I think the key is unique contents and Providing value to visitors that will increase traffic and eventually page rank will follow.

How many posts do you think you need to post daily?

  24. Samir says

I Would like to add one more point in this. The content and the outbound links. If your website is having quality content for readers and it is linked to other valuable website then your page will get a good search engine ranking. Google wants to help all so by helping the similar topic website by linking their website on your website will generate value for users. I would recommend if you have a blog and want to rank well on search engine use out bound linking strategy.

I agree with Pillar Joe 200%. I think it is actually a waste in most cases. I have tried numerous times to run AdWords accounts on my few sites. It was my theory (hope) that if I were to drive traffic to my site through Adwords, then this may translate into more “credibility” to my organic growth rankings. It has never done anything except empty my pockets. I would stay away from AdWords unless you have deep pockets. My 2 cents
